Hong Kong Shopping Guide 2011
Hong Kong is just like heaven for shoppers year-round. There are so many shopping malls, markets, stores, and outlets all available for tourists at attractive prices. It is an exellenct shopping destinations for toys and Chinese medicine, watches, digital / electronic products and brand name cosmetics. Hong Kong's annual Sales will be held on June to August. There are huge discounts on all ranges of top-quality products on sales across the island. Shopping during Chinese New Year should be avoided because most of the shops will be closed for holiday celebration.

Central Area: This area is packed with skyscraper buildings including shopping malls and high-end department stores. Many of high end designer shops and clothing boutique can be found in the area. The popular shopping places in central area are Prince's Building, Alexandra House, and International Finance Centre.
Admiralty: It is an extended district from the business area. The Pacific Place complex is the most famous complex in the area. The building is connected to the MTR Admiralty Station via an underground walkway and is a place not to be missed. There are more than 130 shops in the complex.
Causeway Bay: This area is the most famous shopping destination and is known as "Little Japan" in Hong Kong. The place is home to the major Japanese department stores. This area is popular to shop for brand name shoes, electrical appliances and fashion for teens. Visitors can enjoy shopping for a variety of fashion products and various kinds of internation cuisines in and around Times Square, Caroline, The World Trade Center, So Go, Lee Garden, Lee Theatre Plaza, Fashion Island, etc. For computer products, The In Square (Windsor House) is high-end department store for a wide range of computer products and electrical appliance.
Wan Chai: A district is originally a small fishing village. As the time passed by, it became a prosperous commercial and residential district. This area is filled with old traditional Chinese atmosphere with lots of shopping stalls selling export goods at competitive prices. In Queen's Road East, visitors can find a number of quality rattan shops and fine Chinese furniture stores. Situated in the southern side of Wan Chai, Spring Garden Lane is located between
Queen's Road East and Johnston Road. This market is a perfect place for discount clothing products. At night, the area is filled bright with lights from Chinese restaurants, nightclubs and bars.
Standley: Standley Market is a one-stop place to go for oriental-looking gifts and souvenirs. It is famous for its market and beaches. Visitors will find lots little shops and stalls selling silk garments, sportswears, traditional Chinese art and souvenirs in Standley district. This market is an attractive seaside market with wide variety of relatively inexpensive goods and will usually bursted with tourists during the weekends. Market is opened from 10:00am to 18:00 pm daily. Murry House on the bay front is a must see. Stanley beaches are also well worth a visit and are popular for windsurfers.

Tsim Sha Tsui: Situated in the harbour end of Kowloon, Tsim Sha Tsui (TST) is a popular tourist centre with plenty of shops, entertainment venues, factory outlets and fashion boutiques. It is one of Hong Kong's busiest districts. Visitors will find lots of shopping stores and great restaurants on Nathan Road, the main road of Tsim Sha Tsui.
Yau Ma Tei: Yau Ma Tei is located in the southern area of Kowloon. Visitors can find all sorts of bargain merchandises here, especially designer glasses, watches and purses. The area is a buzzing traditional Chinese street-scenes mixed with fortune tellers and food stalls. Jade market is situated nearby the area offering a wide range of jade products on sale. At night, the market offers many different kinds of products including clothes, decorations, VCD and toys. Temple Street Market and is definitely worth a visit for amazing shopping sight and fascinating oriental atmosphere.
Mongkok: Mongkok is a bustling shopping centers and entertainment venues located in central Kowloon just north of Yau Ma Tei and adjacent to Nathan Road. It is packed with markets, restuarants, small shops, fashion boutiques and food stalls. The market is similar to the Temple Street market but livelier atmosphere with larger crowd. This district is famous for its array of attractions such as Ladies' market, goldfish market, bird garden and flower market. Ladies' Market on Tung Choi Street is a must-visit destination for fashion specializes in women's clothing, accessories, cosmetics.
Sham Shui Po: The district is located in the northwestern area of the New Kowloon and is conveniently accessible via the MTR station (Red Line C2). The area is well-known street market for electronic equipments and devices that one usually goes for computer related products and video game shoppings. The sophisticated electronic items and devices, such as power tools, mobile phones, and car accessories can be found in Apliu Street. It is the place to find new or second-hand electrical appliances. For immense choice of computer components, software, games, latest computer and high-tech products, Golden Computer Centre and Golden Computer Arcade are the top choices to go.
Kowloon Tong: The district is a residential district for the upper class in Hong Kong. Festival Walk, a multi-level shopping centre, is situated in the area directly connected to the MTR Kowloon Tong station. The complex is the biggest shopping centre in Hong Kong which comprises of 200 shops, 27 restaurants, a multiplex cinema and an ice rink. Tourist will find a wide range of shopping privilege and special offers at Festival Walk.

Lantau Island
Citygate Outlet is at MTR Tung Chung Station. It is an outlet mall style that sell a lot of international brands such as esprit, sasa, bossini, giodano, levi, adidas, nike, seven, samsonite, timberland, quicksilver, etc. Stuffs in this store are not new as much as outlet in Mongkok or Tsim Sha Tsui. Open everyday from 10 am. - 10 pm.
Hong Kong Skymart: It is the last shopping place before leaving from Hong Kong. It is situated in Departure area of Hong Kong International Airport with wide array of local and internation shops, superb restaurants, and duty free. Make sure that you won't miss anything.

New Town Plaza: The plaza is located at Sha Tin MTR station. This Shopping Mall is divided into Phase 1, Phase 2, Phase 3, HomeSquare, Royal Park Hotel, and 2nd Phase of commercial buildings. This is the amazing place for shopper with wide selection of overseas menswear & Ladieswear, sportswear, kids wear, authentic leather goods, excellent international restaurants have come together here.
Tsing Yi
Maritime Square: Maritime Square in Sing Yee is a perfect place that combines old atmosphere to comtemporary city in this century. There are over 200 shops located near the Hong Kong International Airport including luxury atmosphere restaurants, and cinemas. This place is a popular one-stop shopping center in Hong Kong; most of passengers have to transit their planes here.
